A 57-year-old woman was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries after a bicycle crash in Tierrasanta, police said Wednesday.
Just before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, the woman lost control of her bicycle near 10300 Aero Drive, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The woman suffered significant trauma to her head after falling off the bike, according to the SDPD.
She was taken to a hospital and intubated, according to police.
The SDPD's Traffic Division responded to the scene and was investigating the accident.

Search efforts for a 57-year-old man last seen in Provincetown in late December are ongoing, according to officials, as police continue to seek info from the public.
Bruce Crowley was originally reported missing on Jan. 4, after spending the New Year's Eve weekend in Provincetown, according to the local authorities.
On the department's Facebook page, Provincetown police described Crowley as having a height of 5'8″, with brown eyes and grey hair. They added that his vehicle, a grey Mini Cooper, was found by officers in a local parking lot.

25-Year-Old Man Shot, Wounded in Gang Altercation in City Heights

A 25-year old man was shot in the abdomen and hospitalized in a gang altercation in City Heights.
The gunfire in the 3700 block of Fairmount Avenue was reported shortly after 2 p.m., according to the San Diego Police Department.
SDPD officers responded to the scene where the victim told them a group of men dressed in black approached him and asked if he was from “East Side,” Officer John Buttle said.
